The Path of Exile 3.26: Secrets of the Atlas brings exciting innovations to the endgame gameplay! 1. New Storyline: Search for Zana

The expansion brings a new storyline involving Zana's brother, Eagon, who seeks your help to rescue her. Players will explore Memory Threads, special rifts that influence high-tier maps, unlocking new narrative-driven content and powerful rewards.

2. New Endgame Mechanics: Memory Petals

Monsters in affected endgame maps drop Memory Petals, which grant special buffs when activated: 

- Memory of Disbelief: Monsters drop only currency and maps (no gear).

- Memory of Panic: Slain monsters revive once, granting double XP/loot.

- Memory of Impatience: Absorb souls for temporary buffs.

These mechanics allow for high currency-earning potential when used strategically.

3. Three New Pinnacle Bosses & Unique Drops

In the deeper memory of Zana, you’ll encounter terrifying new bosses. Defeating bosses in Memory Threads unlocks fights against Zana’s twisted memories of her father:

Incarnation of Fear: Drops Starcaller (unique axe), summoning elemental meteors.

Incarnation of Neglect: Drops Wine of the Prophet (unique flask), granting random Prophecy buffs.

4. New Currency & Crafting

POE Secrets of the Atlas has introduced Memory Strands, a new endgame mechanic. Endgame gear can now roll with Memory Strand modifiers, which are adjustable using two new orbs: the Orb of Remembrance and the Orb of Unravelling.

Orb of Remembrance allows you to add Memory Strands to items, while the Orb of Unravelling removes them. The exact effects of the Orb of Unravelling are yet to be revealed, adding an element of mystery to this new system.

5. Mercenaries of Trarthus Challenge League

In this league, players will randomly encounter Trarthan Mercenaries — powerful NPCs who roam the world with their own builds, fully equipped gear sets, and pouches filled with currency. Each time you meet one, you'll get to inspect their equipment, skill gems, and stats before making a choice: Hire, Take Item, or Exile.
